Warm-ups: Mikayla is off for a jaunt in her hot air balloon.  To lift off , the gas in a hot air balloon was heated to 350 K. (atmospheric pressure was "standard") The balloon had a volume of 250,000 L.  At 2500 ft, the atmospheric pressure tapered off to 80 kPa.  Because of this the balloon expanded to 260,000 L and the temperature cooled.  The gas temperature has to be 350 K to ascend.  By how much will she have to heat the gas to allow the balloon to continue to rise?
Objectives: Analyze the behavior of gases
Announcements: 15 school days left!

Avodadro's Hypothesis
Sample calculations (Stoich with gases)
If you burned one gallon of gas (C8H18) (approx.
4000 grams), how many liters of carbon
dioxide would be produced at a temperature
of 21.0 °C and a pressure of 1.00 atm?
